Our first "Feature Member" is Phil Barske who is one of the founding members of our club. His wife at the time, came up to a group of friends at a car show and said "you guys are a bunch of losers" and the Losers Car Club was born.

Phil's street rod is a 1938 Nash coupe in which he showed some of his many talents by completing all the work on the car himself. He performed all the mechanical work, body work, paint and even the upholstery. He finished the Nash just in time to fill the gas tank and take off to Louisville for the NSRA Street Rod Nationals and back without any new car problems. Phil is currently working his magic on his latest project, a rare 1932 Graham-Paige 3 window coupe which will be powered by a double overhead cam Lincoln 4.6 engine. He acquired some of his know-how by previously owning a body shop with his brother Tom who is also a member of the Losers.

                BEFORE                                AFTER

Phil's first car was a 1961 Corvette bought when he was 17 years old. Since then he's had many cars including a 1972 Corvette, a 2004 Audi TT and his current daily driver a 2004 Cadillac XLR. Of all the cars he's owned the 1938 Nash is his favorite.

Phil's favorite cruise night is Solid Gold McDonalds where the Losers meet every Wednesday evening year round. His favorite car show was at Victoria's in Okauchee. Of the many awards he's won with the Nash the one that means the most was a NSRA Reps Pick at the Street Rod Nationals North in Kalamazoo.

Phil believes the best thing about being a member of the Losers is meeting new friends with the same interests.
